To add a unit list price that includes a discount on your Items, follow the steps below.
1. Add or edit an Item in the Project.
2. Add or edit the Component in the Item by clicking on the green +Add button or click on the Component number.
3. Be sure that your % Type is set to Discount. After doing so, the Cost/Pricing will now show lines for the Unit Cost and Unit List.
4. Enter the Discount % next to the % Value.
5. Enter your Unit Cost and Quantity and a Unit List Price. The sell price will automatically calculate based on the Unit List Price - Discount.
6. When finished entering the information, click on Save.
7. The Item will show the component and the Total Estimated Price will include the Unit List Price - Discount. Click Save.
You can set each of your Component Types to automatically be set to a Discount % Type, as well as enter a default Discount percentage amount. There is an overall Company setting for this; however, each Project can also have separate settings.
To set a Component type to be discount under your company settings, go to Settings in the navigation bar and select Workflow Settings. Under General, you can select a Component type to be a discount pricing type. If you make any changes, here click on Save.
To set a Component type to be discount under your Project, go to the Project and select Settings. Click on the green Advanced/Mark-up button and under General, you can select a Component type to be a discount pricing type. If you make any changes, here click on Save.
