Using the Catalog

Learn how to use the Catalog

Written by Bobbie Combs

The Catalog feature allows you to save a copy of an Item and its Components for use in future Projects. Suppose that over several months you find you are proposing a particular set of end tables to many clients. You could place this end table in your Catalog and retrieve it with a single action instead of typing all the information each time the table is used in a Project.

You can find the Catalog in the navigation bar to the left.

You can add an Item to the Catalog by clicking on the Add Catalog Item button.

You can also add an Item to the Catalog by using the Product Clipper or you can copy a Project Item to the Catalog. To copy an Item from a Project to the Catalog, go the Project and under the Items tab, select the Item you want to add. Then select the Actions button and select Catalog Item.

Catalog Items can be edited by clicking on the Catalog No. You can delete Catalog Items by selecting the Catalog Item and under Actions selecting Delete.

You can search for Catalog Items by using the Search field and you can filter the Catalog Item list by selecting the Column header and if applicable selecting a filter.

To add a Catalog Item to a Project go to the Project and the Items tab. Click the Add Item button.

On the new window, select the Item drop down field at the top and select Item from Catalog.

Then select and enter information for the fields shown. When finished, click Save.

The method of calculating the price of the Item can be chosen; to use the price exactly as it has been entered into the Catalog, chose the “Use Catalog Estimate Price” option. The “Use Project Pricing Calculation” option will apply the current default mark-up settings defined in your Project to the cost of each Component in your Catalog Item and calculate a new price of the entire Item. Which ever option you choose, you can update the pricing in the Component after clicking Save and editing the Item.
