Understanding Item Statuses

Learn how Item Statuses in Design Manager track where each Item is in your workflow, updating automatically as you create proposals, purchase orders, and invoices — or manually when needed

Design Manager lets you track the progress of your Items using item statuses. Statuses can be set manually on the Item list within a project, and many statuses are also assigned automatically as you move through your workflow.

Status categories

Each status falls into one of three categories:

  • Active — the item is in progress and appears throughout Design Manager

  • Complete — the item's work is done; by default, completed items are hidden from the Items, Proposal, Purchase Order, and Client Invoice lists, as well as select reports such as Client Status and Prebilling

  • Inactive — the item is not in use and is hidden from the vast majority of lists and reports
